We are now ISO 14001 certified!
We are proud to announce that Swebor has now achieved ISO 14001 certification
ISO 14001 has become the international standard for designing and implementing an environmental management system (EMS). Companies that achieve the certification have proper procedures in place to measure, reduce and manage their environmental impacts.
What ISO 14001 means to Swebor
The certification requires Swebor to consider all environmental issues relevant to our operations, to have a strategy for managing them, and to continually improve our systems and approaches for tackling them.
Swebor CEO Petter Eriksson said the certification was something to be celebrated.
“The ISO 14001 certification requires us to have an environmental policy and action plan to manage our environmental impact. It will help us to improve our performance and will create a more efficient business with less waste.” he said.
For Swebor, certification and the active management of our environment through our EMS will ensure:
- Increased efficiency in our processes
- A reduction in the use of resources and materials for any benefit delivered
- Less waste production (and therefore reduced costs for waste management)
- An increase in the share of renewable resources and systems used
- A higher environmental competence throughout the company.
Certification is also an opportunity to demonstrate to our team, our customers and the community that we’re commited to the environment.
Any organisation that achieves ISO 14001 certification must consider a wide variety of potential environmental impacts, including air pollution, water and sewage issues, waste management, soil contamination, climate change mitigation and adaptation, resource use and efficiency.
ISO 14001 certification works as a guarantee of quality in the environmental management systems of an organization, and any company’s compliance with its certification can be audited. This means anyone doing business with a certified company can be reassured it has proper procedures in place to measure, reduce and manage its environmental impacts.
Swebor also holds ISO 9001, which is the international standard for a quality management system.
